I have been with UVU since 2001. Previous positions include High School Relations Coordinator, and Director of Enrollment Marketing. I have taught Student Success (1.5 years), Career Prep (5 years), Public Speaking (6 years), and Marriage and Relationship skills (9 years). I get to help people with the two biggest decisions of their lives: what they will do for a career (as director of the Career Development Center), and who their partner in life is going to be (as an instructor of Marriage and Relationship Skills). It is very rewarding. I have a BS in Communication (Weber State University) with a minor in Sociology of the Family; an M.Ed. in Educational Counseling (University of Phoenix), and will complete my doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership (Abilene Christian University) with an emphasis in Conflict Resolution during the fall of 2022.. I am a husband to one, and a father to five, and grandpa to three granddaughters with one more on the way. My focuses in life are Family, Faith, Fitness, Friends, Failure, and Forgiveness. I'm a published author, love traveling, riding motorcycles (dirt bikes and road bikes), recovering from a plethora of surgeries, grilling tri tip roast and fish tacos, college football, documentaries, and weekly date night with my wife. Finally, the 90s were one of the most pivotal decades of my life. I spent the first two years of the 90s serving others. Shortly after that I met my dream girl and convinced her I might be worth her time. We had our first two children in the 90s, and I graduated with my first degree in the 90s. Many tried to convince us in the 90s that Y2K (year 2000) would open up with disaster of all sorts. I personally think music started to tank a bit in the 90s and knew I would miss the 80's classics which almost everyone enjoys now. I hate to admit it, but it's quite possible my favorite movie from the 90s was Dumb and Dumber (I've matured a little since then). My wife would say hers was Wayne's World. There were far better movies than either of those, including The Lion King. My two favorite bands from the 90s were probably Weezer and R.E.M., but my favorite 90's musician was Shania Twain!
