Alternative Fall Break Application - 2026

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Center for Social Impact Alternative Fall Break - Thursday, October 15 - Saturday, October 17, 2026. To be considered as a participant for this trip, this application form must be submitted no later than Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 11:59pm.

This application is comprised of contact/demographic information and several essay questions. Participants will be selected by the Outreach Program Director and will be notified no later than Monday,October 5, via email. Selected participants will be traveling to Moab, UT to learn about food insecurity. We are excited for you to join us as we adventure with insight and explore the people and partnerships building food security. The cost is $250. A deposit of $50 is due within 48 hours after acceptance.

There will be two required pre-trip orientation and one post-trip reflection that participants must agree to attending. The sessions will be held on the following dates:

Orientation: Tuesday, October 6 | 5-7pm
Tuesday, October 13 | 5-7pm
Reflection: Tuesday, October 20, 2026 | 5-7pm

Attendance is mandatory for all three dates.

Each Alternative Break is dedicated to the application of the Six Pathways of Social Impact (Direct Service, Community Engaged Learning & Research, Social Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility, Policy & Governance, Community Organizing & Activism, and Philanthropy). On our Alternative Spring Breaks, we are committed to studying issues within our society that impact our most vulnerable and underserved communities, while also seeking to create knowledge and practice (or praxis) with these communities for a better society. Be prepared to create strong friendships, learn, research, and engage in debriefing discussions and reflections. Please respond to the essay questions authentically (minimum 100 words).
